Happy Friday Everyone!
We all know people who really struggle taking ownership of their current circumstances or actions. People who blame their state of being on someone or something besides themselves. Lack of ownership is a phrase that is often thrown out when we experience or observe this "blame game". Before we can accuse someone of having a lack of ownership, we should be clear about how we define ownership. My favorite definition of ownership is an unwavering and unconditional acceptance of the results of your actions with absolute zero blame or argument. And, it does not matter if the results are from individual actions or collective actions. You (me, we) only look in the mirror for validation of the results. You do not look for others to validate your efforts. Results, good or bad, come because of you, not because of someone else. True ownership is extremely powerful and once established has no ceiling. Our level of ownership can easily be gaged by reflecting on how we respond to our results, the good and the bad.
Happy Friday!!
