Battle Creek Public Schools will be welcoming a new teacher at the elementary next fall: Mr. Brad Lanman. Mr. Lanman will also assist with coaching wrestling for the district.
Mr. Lanman grew up in Battle Creek, graduating from Battle Creek High School in 2012. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences and a minor in coaching. He spent this past school year teaching at Norfolk Middle School.
Mr. Lanman mentioned that he chose the field of education because he wanted to impact the lives of students in the same ways his teachers and coaches impacted his life while growing up in Battle Creek. He wants to “ensure that all students have the resources and skill set to reach their maximum potential.” Mr. Lanman stated that, most importantly, he wants to build strong relationships with students, letting them know he’s always in their corner.
Mr. Lanman stated that he is very excited to be back in Battle Creek and mentioned that not only is it home for him, but it will be home for his growing family. He and his wife Alexis have one son, Bennett.
We certainly welcome Mr. Lanman and can’t wait to get him back in purple and gold.
