Happy Friday everyone!

With any good intentioned plan for improvement there are sure to be issues that arise during development and/or implementation.  Most of the time, these issues are multifaceted and have numerous, potential solutions.  Decision makers who operate within a fixed mindset will see these issues as permanent roadblocks and stop development/implementation.  The statement, "We tried, but no one could agree.  So we stopped." is common in fixed minded people.  The thought that everyone will agree with an improvement plan is complete fantasy.  Issues that arise will always have some form of opposition.  Opposition is not a bad thing as long as it is NOT ignored.  The best solutions are often found through engaging the people affected by the issue including those in opposition.  Growth minded decision makers know that conflicting opinions and ideas push them to think critically.  It is through this critical thinking that the best solutions are found.  Decision makers who operate within a growth mindset during these conflicting conversations are able to refrain from feeling offended by opposition and are able to listen to learn rather than to react or defend.  A growth mindset allows opposition to be an opportunity for a better solution.  As long as we are continuously trying to improve, we will face issues.  As long as we continue to face them with a mindset of growth, our issues with opposition will provide solid solutions and increased improvements.

Happy Friday!
