Happy Friday everyone!
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! What an absolutely exciting time of year. The first days of school are always filled with anticipation, excitement, and even a little anxiety. With the beginning of a new school year we are all presented with a fresh start. We can build upon the successes of the past or turn over a new leaf and overcome some of the struggles and challenges of the past. The most important thing is to keep improving. This, I know to be true for students, staff, and administration. Everyone can improve every year. Our mindset must be one of growth and the expectations for ourselves and others must be set high. Our expectations at BCPS are high, that I am sure of. But we also need to remember that part of the learning and improvement process includes failing to meet some of these expectations at times. However, we must always remember that FAIL stands for First Attempt In Learning. Every single person within our school system is capable to learn and improve. Some people will naturally be more talented in certain areas than others, however, we all bring value to our BC family and there are 10 things that we can all do that require ZERO talent yet add value:
- Be on time
- Have a strong work ethic
- Put forth effort
- Use good body language
- Have energy
- Choose a positive attitude
- Be coachable/teachable
- Do extra
- Be prepared
