Happy Friday everyone!
Trust is a fragile thing. It takes time to establish and only a single instance to injure. Trust is a crucial attribute that is necessary when trying to build true relationships with other people. Without it, you are establishing acquaintances not relationships. One of the biggest bombshells that rock the foundation of trust is when a person makes a mistake and intentionally or unintentionally tries to cover it up. Sooner or later the coverup is discovered and trust suffers. Then it is typical to witness a denial or the blaming of the mistake on another person or group of people. This is so commonplace in parts of today's society that I sometimes wonder if some people are able to trust at all. Is being trustworthy a thing of the past? Did some forget that we are all human beings and we will never be perfect or mistake free? Admitting a mistake and owning our actions are imperative to the maintenance of trust within our relationships with our kids, our families, and our communities. The vulnerability of admitting and owning a mistake will allow our acquaintances to shame and blame, however, it will strengthen the trust within our true relationships. These true relationships, interwoven with trust, create a culture of pride, a culture of ownership, and a culture committed to excellence!
Happy Friday!
