Happy Friday everyone!
In my 25+ years in education, I have given advice to thousands of students. The most solid piece of advice I give is: "Surround yourself with good people and good things will happen." Sometimes students will interpret this advice in a way it was not intended and in response ask me if I think they are hanging around bad kids. My response is a resounding NO. I truly believe there is no such thing as a bad kid. I also understand(and know from my own experiences as a kid) that kids make less than desirable choices at times when they are growing up. What I mean when I give this advice is to surround yourself with people who push you to do and be better. People who refrain from getting involved in drama or negativity. People with higher goals and higher motivation. Good times and positive energy. Void of jealousy or hate. People who simply bring out the absolute best in each other. Kids will always be impulsive and do questionable things, however, these instances are greatly diminished when surrounded by people who turn away from temptations and ignore negativity.
Happy Friday!
