Happy Friday everyone!
This week, March 17-23, is slated as National Agriculture Week. It is only fitting that this "Happy Friday" message recognizes our agricultural roots. Agriculture can be found in almost every aspect of our lives in Nebraska. Regardless of profession, there is some tie to agriculture. Not only do our farmers feed the world, they also support our local businesses, schools, churches, and communities. Agriculture is the foundation of our economy. On behalf of BCPS, we thank our local farmers and their families for their ongoing support. We recognize and appreciate what you do for our community, state, nation, and the world. As I was scrolling through my social media, I came across the following post from Excellence Talks:
Think like a farmer
- Don't shout at your crops
- Don't blame the crop for not growing fast enough
- Don't uproot crops before they've had a chance to grow
- Choose the best plants for the soil
- Irrigate and fertilize
- Remove weeds
- Remember you will have good seasons and bad seasons - you can't control the weather only be prepared for it
I found it relevant to our profession of educating kids and all that entails. Happy National Agriculture Week and Happy Friday!!
