I don't know anyone who doesn't remember the excitement and anticipation of starting a new school year at some point in time in their lives. As a student, one could argue the most exciting day is the first day of your senior year. The most uncomfortable? Definitely the first day as a new student or maybe the first day of Junior High. One could argue as a parent that every first day of school from Kindergarten through 12th grade is exciting and nerve racking at the same time. The same nervous excitement is felt by the teachers and staff. Staff members over prepare to ensure a successful first day. Staff members reach out well before the first day to reassure parents that their children are in good hands. On the first day of school, the students, parents, and staff of Battle Creek Public Schools collectively make a commitment to excellence for the 2024-25 school year. Everyone involved adds value to our school. We begin with high expectations, high aspirations, and excitement for what lies ahead. There is nothing better than the start of a new school year. The opportunity to set new goals, develop or maintain good habits, and build upon the previous year's successes while learning from past year's challenges.
