Happy Friday everyone!
I recently came across a Linked In post from Chris Donnelly and found it worthy to share with everyone. His post reinforces that you don't have to be the smartest person in the room to be a high performer as long as you have the following 10 traits:
You get things done - You're someone who gets things done, no matter the obstacles. When faced with challenges, you always keep pushing.
You have self awareness - You understand your strengths and weaknesses. You're constantly working to improve in the areas of growth.
You show empathy - You treat everyone with respect and understanding. No matter the other person's job, authority, or position.
You are a strong communicator - You express ideas and concepts with extreme clarity and you are capable of connecting with all types of people.
You are great at simplifying - You can break down complex ideas into simple terms which keeps things concise and easy to understand.
You have emotional intelligence - You handle stress with grace and composure. You never let emotions control your decisions.
You speak up - You don't just accept things as they are. If you see room for positive change, you speak up.
You can manage time well - You are organized and can manage tasks efficiently. You stay on top of responsibilities.
You enjoy being wrong - You enjoy learning new and different viewpoints. You own your errors and learn from your mistakes. This growth mindset fuels continuous improvement and you see being wrong as an opportunity to get better.
You are trustworthy - You can be counted on. Your consistent performance builds trust within the team. Others know they can rely on you to show up and perform.
We only have complete control over our own actions. Focusing on these traits and working to continuously improve upon them gives all of us the opportunity to be high performers.
Happy Friday!!
