Happy Friday Everyone!
In any profession or workplace, people often comment on morale. It may be common to hear "I wish someone would do something to boost morale around here". Morale can be defined as the confidence, enthusiasm, and discipline of a person or group of people at a particular time. Common synonyms include confidence, self-confidence, or self-esteem. There are a number of outside factors that some believe can affect morale. Some of these outside factors include the weather, the work environment, the dress code, their colleagues, their boss(es), or the people they serve. I am a firm believer that morale is completely controlled from within. I get to determine how or if these outside factors influence my morale. I am not controlled by them, but rather control how I choose to allow them to affect my morale. All of these experiences and factors provide me with endless opportunities to choose my morale. Even during some of the most stressful and uncomfortable experiences, I have the choice to let them bring me down or to look for the learning/positive aspects that can be gained from them. There are always going to be experiences and outside factors that I have no control over, however, I will never relinquish the control of my morale to them.
