Carter Leo Frohberg, son of Chad Schnoor and Katey Frohberg attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education. He is a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Battle Creek.
Carter participated in football for two seasons and track for one. When asked to name a favorite staff member at BCHS, Carter mentioned Mrs. Stephanie Nelson, saying, “She is always there for her students and is very supportive.” Carter listed his favorite subject as government.
Outside of school, Carter holds a job at Kohl’s; he has worked the service desk for the past ten months. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, and driving around.
After high school, Carter plans to attend Northeast Community College to achieve his welding certification.


Kaydence Louise Salmon, daughter of Heather and Dana Salmon, attended Central City and Norfolk Public Schools before coming to Battle Creek in seventh grade. She is a member of First Christian Church in Norfolk.
Kaydence was active in FFA and FCCLA during all four years of high school. In FFA, she qualified for state her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. In FCCLA, Kaydence served as chapter secretary her junior year. She was also a state champion as a sophomore and junior and received fourth place at nationals her sophomore year. Additionally, Kaydence served as a Trailblazer this past school year.
Outside of school, Kaydence enjoys working, hanging out with her boyfriend and other friends, and going for walks. Kaydence is employed at the Community Pride Care Center, where she has worked as a CNA for the past two years. She has also worked at Goody’s Grille as a waitress for the past three years.
Kaydence listed Mrs. LeAnn Frauendorfer as her favorite teacher at Battle Creek. She says, “Mrs. Fraun has always gone above and beyond with her students. To the best of her ability, she will keep you engaged and always wants you to learn more.” Kaydence says that her favorite subject is history. She added that accounting has also been one of her most enjoyable classes.
After high school, Kaydence plans to attend Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she will study nursing. She hopes to one day be a Registered Nurse. Kaydence hopes to travel and eventually have a family.


Jake Robert Herrick, son of Brian and Jenn Herrick, has attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education.
While in school, Jake was active in FFA and served on the football filming crew from eighth grade through his senior year. Jake said his fondest memories from high school are of being a part of the football squad. In addition, he has been active in drama for the past three years, serving as the head crew member. Aside from extracurricular activities, Jake has been recognized as Student of the Month and Character of the Month.
Outside of school, Jake works at Herrick Construction, where he has been employed for the past thirteen years. In his spare time, Jake enjoys playing pool and learning more about trains, mechanics, and construction. Jake also participated in Boy Scouts, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Jake listed his favorite teacher as Mrs. Rebecca Anderson, stating, “She is a great coach, and she has a great sense of humor and is always willing to help.” Jake named shop as his favorite class because of the skills he has learned that he will utilize throughout his life.
After high school, Jake plans to work as an engineer for the Nebraska Central Railroad.

The theme for the Bravettes' sub-district final basketball game tomorrow is Hawaiian!! You don't have to be a student to dress up! We know you adults have plenty Hawaiian gear too! The game starts at 6:00 at Columbus Scotus!! Come support and help will our girls to a victory!!
