Battle Creek Elementary School had our monthly assembly on October 1st. We celebrated monthly birthdays, talked about our September Monthly Mission (Ready to Learn Strategies), and drew winners from our recognition buckets (Afternoon with the Principal, Lunch with the Principal, and Brownies and Ice Cream with the Principal). We also recognized the Student of the Month Nominations, the Overall Student of the Month, and the Class of the Month.
Our mission for the month of October was discussed to end the assembly. The Monthly Mission is to 'Point the Thumb, Not the Finger', which means owning our actions (both good and bad) and buying-in to the concept of thinking through our own actions rather than pointing out the actions of others to try to 'justify' our mistakes.
Pictured below are the Overall Student of the Month (Lenyx J.), our Class of the Month (Mrs. Seifert's Third Grade Class), the Student of the Month Nominations, and the September Birthdays.

The high school foods and culinary classes would like to say a big thank you to all who helped donate items this year! With the produce and herbs, they were able to make a variety of dishes that many had not tired before and can enough to refill our empty shelves! We are so grateful to have such a supportive community!
