Students in the BC Shop have been busy this quarter. Construction has been working on our introduction to plumbing, Woods students are well into their tables and personal projects, and Robotics is wrapping up our unit on competition style robots.

Due to the lack of subs available and the number of activities taking place on Friday, February 28, students in grades 7-12 will not have to physically report to school. 7-12 students will have a virtual learning day which means they will have assignments for their classes to be completed on-line. Elementary students will have a regular day and buses will run their normal AM and PM routes on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Today, our FCCLA members traveled to Kearney for the Peer Ed Conference, where they explored National Programs, strengthened their leadership skills, and discovered new ways to grow our chapter! We’re also proud to bring home 2nd Place in the 2025 Family Leader Team Capture the Action Award! A special shoutout to Presley Wolf and Lainy Rogat, who courageously shared an incredible project from this year in front of all fellow conference attendees. Your hard work and dedication continue to inspire!

Righteous Roman Albers, son of Richard Albers and Lisa Peltier, attended St. John Lutheran School in Battle Creek before coming to Battle Creek High School at the start of his freshman year. Righteous is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. Righteous participated in speech and golf for one season each. When asked to name a favorite teacher, Righteous mentioned former shop instructor Mr. Mike Couch. Righteous stated, “He was a very funny guy and a hard worker.” He added that shop was his favorite class because he enjoyed working on projects with his friends. Outside of school, Righteous works part-time in the meat department at Hy-Vee, a position he has held for two years. He also enjoys fishing and working on cars in his spare time. After graduation, Righteous will attend Northeast Community College to study his generals before transferring to Wayne State College to work toward a bachelor's degree in accounting.
