Today our Culinary Class traded in chef hats for apple baskets! We took a field trip to learn about where our ingredients really come from. Students picked apples fresh from the tree while discovering how different varieties taste, cook, and bake. From sweet to tart, every apple tells its own story!
A huge thank you to the Kersten family for letting us come to pick from their trees!

If your garden has been a little too generous this year and you find yourself with more tomatoes, zucchini, or cucumbers (or whatever it may be) than you know what to do with, we’d love to help!
Our Culinary & Foods classes will gladly put any unwanted or excess produce to good use in our kitchen classroom. Students will get hands-on experience cooking, preserving, and creating delicious dishes, all while learning the value of reducing food waste.
-Big baskets or a single pepper, it all helps! -Fresh, local, and homegrown makes the best classroom learning. -Drop-offs can be made to the High School.

The 1992 Battle Creek Boys State Basketball Championship Team is being inducted into the 2025 BCHS Hall of Fame class. This is quite an honor and to celebrate we are bringing the 1991/92 State Championship T-Shirt back out and making them available for anyone that wants to purchase a little piece of BCHS history. The front of the shirt is the championship team and on the back is the varsity roster for the ‘91/‘92 season. Fun fact about the shirt is that a member of the basketball team (John Buckendahl), who is an amazing artist, sketched a drawing of the team freehanded and created the shirts. It has been 33 years since the championship and the creation of the shirt. This is open to anyone interested in purchasing a shirt, here is the link to purchase from Custom Sports. Deadline is September 19th.
