Battle Creek To Welcome New Media Specialist
By Jaidyn Smutny
When the 2025 - 2026 school year begins, Battle Creek Public Schools will be welcoming a new staff member: Liz Baber. Mrs. Baber will be the new media specialist in both buildings.
Baber graduated from Park Avenue Christian High School in 2008. She graduated from Wayne State College in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education before earning a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Governor’s University in 2023.
Baber is married, and and she and her husband Levi have three children: Bailey is an eighth grader at Battle Creek High School, while her other two children attend the elementary school. Aubrey is in sixth grade, and Emery is in first grade. In her free time, Baber enjoys gardening, crafting, and spending time outdoors with her family on their small "farm."
Baber currently teaches in the Norfolk Public Schools. She began her teaching career as a K-4 reading and writing teacher before moving to 5th grade, where she has been for the past five years. When asked about coming to BCPS, Baber stated that she is “thrilled for this unique opportunity to connect with all students K-12 and support them throughout their educational journey.”
Welcome to Battle Creek Public Schools, Mrs. Baber.

We’re so proud of our Battle Creek TeamMates senior mentees! Many have been with us since 5th grade. Huge thanks to our students and mentors for your dedication and support—your commitment makes a lasting impact! 💙 #TeamMatesMentoring #BattleCreekPride
